Katika

Privacy Policy

Effective 10 August 2026 · How Katika collects, uses and protects your information

1. Who we are

1.1 Katika is a product of Idantiti Finance Cameroun SARL, a company registered in the Republic of Cameroon (RCCM CM-DLA-03-2026-M-00648), with registered office at Boulevard de la Liberté, Ground floor of Akwa Palace Building, Douala, Cameroon. In this policy, “Katika”, “we” and “us” refer to Idantiti Finance Cameroun SARL as the controller of your personal data.

1.2 Katika lets people in the United States, the European Union and the United Kingdom send money to recipients in Cameroon. The collection of a sender’s money is carried out by licensed partner institutions in the sender’s country under their own authorisations and their own privacy notices, which are shown to you before you confirm a transfer. This policy covers the data that we process.

2. The data we collect

2.1 Identity and contact data: your name, date of birth, nationality, address, phone number and email.

2.2 Verification data: your official identity document and a selfie or biometric check used to confirm the document is yours, collected through our identity-verification provider.

2.3 Transaction data: amounts, currencies, exchange rates, beneficiary details, transaction references and history.

2.4 Technical data: device identifiers, app version, IP address and security logs generated when you use the App.

3. Why we use your data

3.1 To provide the service — creating your account, executing transfers, showing your history and supporting you. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.

3.2 To meet our legal obligations — verifying your identity, screening against international sanctions lists, monitoring transactions and keeping records, as required by anti-money-laundering law. Legal basis: compliance with legal obligations.

3.3 To keep Katika safe — preventing fraud, securing accounts and investigating misuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interests in protecting you and the service.

3.4 We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

4. Who we share it with

4.1 Service providers who help us operate Katika, including our identity-verification and financial-crime prevention provider and our cloud hosting providers, under contracts that restrict what they may do with your data.

4.2 Our licensed collection and payment partners, to the extent needed to execute your transfer.

4.3 Public authorities, regulators and law enforcement, where the law requires or permits it, including reports we are legally obliged to make.

5. International transfers

5.1 Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including Cameroon, the United States and countries where our providers operate. Where data of persons in the European Union or the United Kingdom is transferred internationally, we use recognised safeguards such as standard contractual clauses with our providers.

6. How long we keep it

6.1 We keep identity, verification and transaction records for at least five years after your relationship with us ends or after the transaction date, whichever is later, because anti-money-laundering law requires it. Other data is kept only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, in accordance with our Data Retention Policy.

7. Your rights

7.1 Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access your data, correct it, receive a copy, object to or restrict certain processing, and request deletion. Deletion cannot apply to records we are legally required to keep, such as identity and transaction records within the retention period above.

7.2 To exercise your rights, contact us at contact@idantiti.com. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.

8. How we protect it

8.1 Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access to it is restricted and logged, and our staff are trained annually in data protection and security. If a breach affects your data, we will notify you and the competent authorities as required by law.

9. Changes and contact

9.1 We may update this policy. Material changes will be notified in the App before they take effect. The date at the top tells you when this version became effective.

9.2 Questions about this policy or your data: contact@idantiti.com, or write to us at the address in the footer.
